Last year, after battling a horrible tennis elbow for months, I was referred to Ryan by a friend from the gym. He used to have a debilitating hip pain and Ryan had completely fixed him. I am not a huge fan of PT, but this was a totally different experience! Not only Ryan is the nicest person ever (and a kickass coach), he is so amazingly good at his job and in a month I was back to snatching and cleaning, while before even picking up a full glass of water from the nightstand was causing me pain. The fact that he is also a CrossFitter gives him an edge because he is well aware of the kind of strain our bodies undergo. He fixed my elbow and gave me some fantastic tips that really upgraded my weightlifting skills. He has kept on checking on me months after we were done with our sessions. If you have ANY issue or you just want to step up your game do yourself a favor and go see Ryan!

I really love the convenience of joining the workouts from home while at the same time receiving the same level of personal training and instruction that I'd get if I were in person. I really appreciate the way that Ryan helps us meet our strength and conditioning goals in a way that takes into consideration correct alignment and positioning so that we build strength without injury. Between Ryan's real time instruction and the videos, the exercises are always really well explained, clear and easy to follow.

When covid shut down the gyms we were offered virtual training, which I was excited to join. I was working out with my daughter and then asked my daughter-in-law and friends to join. We train twice a week in the morning. It's nice to be able to work out with other people. Ryan is a great trainer, he is very patient, soft spoken, and presents a workout that is different each time, and is done with music in the background. We are building upper and lower body strength as well as a cardio workout. He is very aware of our age differences in the group and he modifies movements to still give those that are older a great workout. I am 72 years old and I feel good about the fact that I can keep up with the workouts and good about myself, both mentally and physically. I feel stronger and have lost 16 lbs. Virtual training is a great way to be with friends and have a great workout at the same time. I highly recommend it.

I've been working with Ryan for almost three years now. He is a lot of fun and very knowledgeable. He is really passionate about getting you back on your feet. Not only do he know how to fix you up if you had injuries like I did, but take take the time to explain the how and why you may have gotten the injury in the first place. He really knows how to put everything in easy to understand terms and make your road to recovery as smooth as can be. I highly recommend Ryan.

I have been working with Ryan Z. Since about 2019 or so. I came to him as an injury prone middle distance runner. I was frustrated with constantly getting injured and having my performance plateau due to interrupted training cycles, and found that he had good training / functional methodologies along with more traditional recovery work. I have since then been able to reach my original goals (which at the time seemed prohibitively ambitious) of a two times body weight deadlift, and lifting my body weight over my head in a split jerk. I have also been able to PR in my favorite middle distance event, the 800m. Ryan Z. has always been patient and diligent and is a very thorough teacher with a solid basis in training methodologies and lifting technique. Ryan also has the unique ability to teach how to begin to create self reliance in his students by teaching them how to detect inefficiencies and errors in their own lifting footage. He has also taught me many skills that are now so integrated into the way I workout--from things I do when warming up, to minor injury rehab I can do practice by myself before needing additional assistance—that they are the very basis from which I make progress in all my athletic pursuits!

Ryan Zaffino is an amazing trainer and great person ! His knowledge and the application of knowledge has been incredible for my high school son and daughter. His ability to communicate and motivate my high school athletes is best in class. He has the ability to create multi-faceted workouts each and every time for the specific needs of my teens, which is not easy to do. He offers HIIT, Strength, Rehabilitation, Explosive and Flexibility workouts for both of my kids that are both cutting edge and traditional in nature. My kids love to train with Ryan. His ability to communicate with that age group is dynamic and his temperament is both reasonable and challenging, never demeaning or negative, always positive and encouraging! He is great with High School athletes and I have seen him work work with older clients, he is exceptional! I highly recommend Ryan for anyone in need of a professional personal trainer !

Ryan is an amazing trainer! I have worked with him since he moved out to Los Angeles over 5+ years ago and I couldn’t recommend him enough. He has helped me with everything from diet and nutrition to rehabbing injuries occurred during athletic performance. He has a keen eye on the human body and is extremely informative. I have never met someone so intuitive and genuinely nice in regards to training. Whether you need prehab, rehab, movement, nutrition, or just even just a basic one on one trainer he is the one I always recommend!

Coach Ryan is one of the best coaches I’ve ever had. Started training with him before the 2018/2019 CF Open. My goal was to to just do better than the previous season. Not only did I jump thousands of spots in the Open, I was able to get muscle ups on both the bars and rings. Coach Ryan was able to help me through poor technique that I had developed for myself and correct my movements. He also helped me understand how to correct my form on my own and taught me what to look for and feel when working out by myself. Couldn’t ask for a more well rounded and knowledgeable coach.

Ryan was a really great trainer. I’m not the easiest person to motivate, but he always managed to keep me going. If you’re looking for a great trainer with all the knowledge you could want who motivates you without all the shouting, Ryan is the a perfect choice.

Ryan is a freaking AMAZING trainer. He's knowledgable about exercise, but a lot of trainers are - what's different about Ryan is that he WILL motivate you to work your hardest because he wants you to be the best version of yourself - not just tell you what to do, but actually encourage you to do it. He's not just an instructor, not just a coach - he is right there with you, he listens, he caters to what you want and need, and cares about your fitness goals like if they were his own. I started classes with him unable to do a single chinup. I thought I could never...but he's gotten me through the hard work - not just physically, but mentally. Whether exercise is fun or not for you, a habit or not, Ryan makes the experience awesome and pushes you to work to your full potential. Thank you Ryan!

I recommend Ryan for a number of reasons, but mainly because he’s thoughtful and highly skilled. It’s rare to find a trainer/coach with a strong balance of knowledge and compassion- Ryan excels at both!

Ryan Z is the man. After two years of working out at home, I decided to get back into the gym, but I wanted to get some 1:1 training on some of the Olympic lifts that I wasn’t as familiar with. Also, I have a history of sports-related injuries, so I just wanted ensure my form was looking good. I signed up for four sessions with Ryan and they were awesome. He took the time to understand my background, my injury history, and my goals, and all of our sessions were very focused and I saw visible improvement from session to session. Additionally, he has a great understanding of physiology, so he was able to train me on the right stretches that I needed to do to open up my tight shoulders. Finally, he’s just a good dude to chat with as well, making each session fly by. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.
